I am one of a few individuals in the UK practising as a Functional Patterns Specialist (FP).
Functional Patterns is a uniquely holistic training system created specifically to mimic our genetic and physiological human traits.
I believe in FP as I can now correct all those injuries holding me back during my career as a professional footballer.
Since I was little, I was always taught never to settle for second best. Thus, I never wanted to be just a “regular” PT; this is where my journey began after I moved to the UK from the Czech Republic.
Since then, I have done sport massage course and worked with excellent manual therapists focusing on the fascia. This was another step towards osteopathy I have studied for the last 4 years. As a result, I will be a qualified osteopath in 2024.
My mission is to implement FP into Osteopathy as both approaches complement each other.
This symbiosis creates a unique view of human health and training. I can assure you, there is nothing like this.
Come and join the Team at Functional Therapy, where your personal journey can begin today. I am here for those who care about their own body and what to live pain-free movement.
My name is Gioele, and I have been in the health and fitness world for about 7 years. I got into lifting weights to improve my health and body confidence, then decided to make a career out of it and started studying to become a personal trainer.
While completing my courses, I rekindled an old love for the art of muay-thai, and it wasn’t long before I started accumulating nagging aches and minor problems, which I initially shook off with the old “no pain, no gain” mentality.
However, it later became apparent I could not simply push through them without making things worse. Through a member of the local gym, I found Petr, who introduced me to Functional Patterns and their revolutionary concepts.
I was hooked. I had tools to address my issues, and most importantly, I could finally understand the mechanisms behind human movement and its principles.
With Petr, I got into functional training more and more, and under his wing, I started developing the understanding and experience to apply it.
The road towards improvement is a constant journey, and I believe training people and being together in the trenches of improving one’s health in a “like-minded” community is the best way.
I am now eager to help others work on their issues, training practice and make them more confident in their movement capabilities!
Hi, I’m Zi, an international student from the United States pursuing my master’s in Nutrition and Behavior at BU. I also play for the BU Men’s Basketball 1st Team.
Before coming to the UK, I had the privilege of interning at Harvard University, where I worked with athletes from 42 different sports – the most in the country.
This experience fueled my passion for becoming the best version of myself in all aspects of life, which is why I pursued coaching as a career. As an athlete my entire life, I understand the struggles that come with injuries and the frustration of being unable to reach my full potential.
During my high school and college career, I suffered from terrible ankle sprains that led to ankle surgery, and I had to sit out my first year of university.
However, during the Covid pandemic, a close friend introduced me to functional training, which I found incredibly effective in building strength and mobility in my ankles.
As a result, I got certified as an FP practitioner in October 2021 and have since helped my clients achieve great results in their bodies and lifestyles. With my personal experience and expertise, I am confident that I can help you reach your fitness goals and become the best version of yourself.
I have been working in dentistry since 2008. In 2016 I have completed my dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist degree from University of Portsmouth with first class honours.
Since qualifying, I have worked in private and specialist practices where I mainly concentrate on oral health and prevention of gum disease. My passion and sometimes frustration led me to undertake further numerous postgraduate courses, as I always felt there is more that I can offer to my patients.
I am a qualified Orofacial myofunctional therapist, I have completed the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional therapy course and Buteyko breathing practitioner and Oxygen advantage practitioner course and at present this field remain main interest.
My aim is to join forces with Petr and create a unique approach to treat our clients with. As I believe the combination of Petr’s passion and knowledge of functional, biomechanical, and anatomical function of the body and mine knowledge will help our clients to achieve the best possible outcome.
This innovative model of therapy, depending on specific client’s needs, may be integrated with other healthcare professionals. These professionals might be ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons, dentist, speech and language therapist, orthodontist, sleep specialist and lactation consultants.
“I am one of a very few individuals in the U.K. practising as a Functional Patterns Specialist (FP).
Functional Patterns is a uniquely holistic training system which has been created, specifically, to mimic our genetic physiological human traits.
It aims to alleviate all types of physical restriction, distortion and discomfort – such as poor posture, scoliosis, back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder and joint problems.
The results, moreover, can have lasting effects and the original issues, which were causing the problems in the first place, are less likely to recur.
I personally believe in FP as I am now able to correct all those injuries which were holding me back during my career as a professional footballer. I visited top clinics and was treated by the best physiotherapists.
No-one, however, was able to help me to prevent my knee injuries from recurring.
Only after discovering Functional Patterns and completing Human Biomechanics Specialist courses in Seattle (USA) I was able to begin to understand the complex workings of the human body and, at the same time, become empowered to heal my own injuries. I am here for those who care about their own body in terms of pain free movement.
Since I was little, I was always taught to never settle for second best, thus I never wanted to be just your “regular” PT and this is where my journey begins.
